The U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Public Affairs will host a Google+ Hangout to discuss the power of entrepreneurship in advance of the 2014 Global Entrepreneurship Summit taking place November 19-21 in Marrakech, Morocco, coordinated by the Office of Global Entrepreneurship Programs on October 29, at 10:30 a.m. (EDT).

Global Entrepreneurship Programs Director Caron De Mars will moderate, joining two entrepreneurs who participated in last year’s Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) in the conversation: Kenyan entrepreneur, Global Innovation through Science and Technology (GIST) alum, and 2013 Summit speaker Kate Kiguru, who founded a platform that helps organizations manage mobile workforces, and Kenyan Chris Asego, who won second place at the 2013 GIST Tech-I Competition for helping poor African families afford education through a pay as you learn phone app. Also joining the hangout is Jonathon Purrelli, an entrepreneur, early-stage technology investor, and recently a filmmaker of the documentary “Start Up Land.”

The Hangout will be broadcast live at 10:30 a.m. EDT on the U.S. Department of State’s Google+ page and YouTube channel. Questions can be submitted in advance on the Google+ page and via Twitter by using #GES2014.

The fifth annual Global Entrepreneurship Summit will convene thousands of participants to network one-on-one with each other and to hear from dozens of speakers.
