Release of the President’s FY 2016 Budget Request for the U.S. Department of State and USAID

Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources Heather Higginbottom and U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Administrator Rajiv Shah will brief the press on the President’s FY 2016 Budget Request for the U.S. Department of State and USAID on Monday, February 2 at 1:30 p.m. EST in the State Department’s press briefing room (Rm. 2209). The briefing will be livestreamed on http://www.state.gov.


Following the briefing by Deputy Secretary Higginbottom and Administrator Shah, senior officials from the Department of State and USAID will conduct a briefing on background via teleconference at 2:15 p.m. EST to answer additional questions about the FY 2016 budget request. An advisory with call-in details will be sent the morning of February 2.


The briefing will be open to the press.


Media representatives may attend this event upon presentation of one of the following: (1) A U.S. Government-issued identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense or Foreign Press Center), (2) a media-issued photo identification card, or (3) a letter from their employer on letterhead verifying their employment as a journalist, accompanied by an official photo identification card (driver’s license, passport).
