Assistant Secretary Countryman Travels to Qatar, Germany, and UK for Nonproliferation Meetings

Assistant Secretary of State for International Security and Nonproliferation Thomas M. Countryman will travel to Qatar, Germany and the UK for meetings with counterparts March 2-6.
On March 2, A/S Countryman will visit Doha, Qatar and deliver remarks on strengthening the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) at NATO’s annual nonproliferation conference.
On March 4-5, the Assistant Secretary will travel to Hamburg, Germany to serve as the U.S. Representative to the G-7 Nonproliferation Directors Group (NPDG) meeting. He and NPDG members will also meet with counter-proliferation experts and tour the Port of Hamburg.
On March 6, A/S Countryman will address the International Institute for Strategic Studies in London with on-the-record remarks about the U.S. approach to the NPT Review Conference, which begins in New York on April 27.
