Assistant Secretary of State for Economic and Business Affairs Charles Rivkin Travels to Republic of Korea and Japan

Assistant Secretary of State for Economic and Business Affairs Charles H. Rivkin will travel to the Republic of Korea (ROK) and Japan March 29 – April 8 where he will focus on trade and commercial advocacy and promote a free and open internet.
In the ROK March 29 – April 2, Assistant Secretary Rivkin will meet with government and private sector representatives to discuss trade and investment issues, focusing on ways the United States and the ROK can further deepen our robust economic ties. He will meet with senior officials from the Blue House, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and other Korean ministries. He will also meet with the American Chamber of Commerce in Korea and local entrepreneurs.
In Japan April 3-8, the Assistant Secretary will meet with senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Economy Trade and Industry, as well as with American and Japanese business leaders, to discuss the digital economy, trade, and broader global economic cooperation issues. He will give a speech on the importance of a free and open internet at the Japan Association of New Economy’s New Economy Summit. He will also speak at the Japan National Press Club about driving innovation through the internet.
