Assistant Secretary of State for Economic and Business Affairs Charles H. Rivkin will travel to Detroit, Michigan, February 25–26, where he will meet with business leaders, entrepreneurs, creative industry groundbreakers, and city officials to discuss the role of international trade and innovation in strengthening our nation’s economic prosperity.


On February 25, he will participate in a roundtable with business leaders from the Council of Ethnic Chambers of Commerce and the American Arab Chamber of Commerce to discuss the role of diaspora communities as bridges to global markets, trade, and economic growth.


On February 26, he will participate in roundtables at Tech Town and the Detroit Creative Corridor Center where he will engage a range of businesses and local organizations to discuss best practices for innovation and entrepreneurship. The Assistant Secretary will also meet with members of the “Detroit Delegation”. They will be traveling with him to the March 5 Tunisia Investment and Entrepreneurship Conference in Tunis to showcase Detroit’s best practices and leadership in entrepreneurship. The members of the Detroit Delegation include: Tech Town, Wayne State University, Loveland Technologies, Detroit Soup, and the Detroit Creative Corridor Center.
